Formal Linguistics Group

The Formal Linguistics Group investigates the structure of natural language through the lenses of syntax, semantics, and morphology. The team combines theoretical inquiry with computational and experimental techniques to reveal how linguistic systems are organised and how they can be modelled formally.

Through corpora construction, annotation frameworks, and logic-driven analysis, the group provides foundational insights that inform language technologies and enrich cross-linguistic understanding. Collaborations with universities and research centres worldwide keep the group at the forefront of linguistic theory and empirical validation.
